Celebrating 10 Years of Cuteness

It’s hard to believe that I started this company over 10 years ago. Last year was our 10 year anniversary and we celebrated with a new product launch, swag giveaways, party hats at conventions, Facebook contests, and our first Kickstarter campaign. It was a busy year to say the least. I’ve been running Punch Brand for as long as I can remember, I mean I’ve been working in the apparel industry for nearly 20 years and half of that was owning my own business. It’s a big part of my life and I probably wouldn’t have been able to do it for this long if I wasn’t for the passion I have and all the wonderful fan support I’ve been getting. I cannot thank my fans and customers enough. You are the reason I keep doing what I do. I’ve been wanting to put together a commemorative album with all the memories and photos taken through the years. So I finally put together a photo album containing the best of the best photos. I had to sort through literally thousands of photos, if you can imagine. 10 years is a long time and a lot of memories. I enjoyed putting the photo album together, it was like a walk down memory lane. And to remember all the wonderful people I met and collaborated with and who have helped me through the years. I would like to share some of the photos with you. Please enjoy!

Dear Fans, we need your help! We are running our first ever KICKSTARTER project to raise funds to make more cuddly, soft alpaca vests. Our supplier is no longer stocking the super soft fabric, so we need to place a custom order in a MUCH higher quantity than we can support.

We want to create more of our cute, cuddly designs for Alpaca lovers everywhere! Please support us when our campaign launches on October 8th. Thank you!

GHSF x crazyheads collaboration

Dreams do come true! Remember my post back in Dec 2009 where I was talking about my wish to do a collaboration with Lights? Yep that was 4 years ago, well my wish came true when Lights and her husband Beau Bokan from Blessthefall visited our booth at Fan Expo Canada and then later contacted us to do a collaboration together. My first reaction was “is this a dream? Pinch me if this is not a dream”. I got to go backstage and watch Lights perform at the PNE last September. That marked the kick off to our GHSFx crazyheads collaboration together. Beau is the lead singer for Blessthefall and also has a clothing line named Golden Hearts Shine Forever. We decided to design one of our smitts based on the GHSF teddy logo, using the bones as inspiration I was able to add stuffed 3D bones to the black hooded smitt. And voila! Today was the official launch on the GHSF merchline website. If you are a fan of GHSF or crazyheads then go now and order one of these limited of 50 hooded smitts. 2013 Lookbook Photoshoot

Last month we contacted lifestyle photographer Patrick Leung to help us do a photoshoot of our new hoodies. I had met Pat a few years ago when I was working on another lookbook photoshoot. Of course before we could start any photoshoot we needed models so we were lucky to enlist the talents of DJ Yurie (a local DJ from Vancouver) and her sister Emma as well as Courtney, another model from Vancouver. My assistant Andee coordinated the shoot. We wanted a Harajuku inspired photoshoot with a lot of colors, makeup and cool accessories. We dressed the models in fun, colorful outfits and styled them with tutus, wigs, glasses, hair bows and other kawaii style accessories. The makeup was done by Kyla Slusar from MUAHjwn.

We started early meeting at Pat’s apartment where we did the catalogue shoot. After a short lunch break we headed out to Steveston for the lookbook part of the shoot. It was a long day but everyone had fun! I hope you love the results as much as I do.

Recap Continued- crazyheads kids

So just as a continuation to my previous post, I was just doing a recap of stuff that’s been happening over the past few months. We are happy to announce the launch of our kids line- crazyheads kids. This took over 6 months of preparation, we started designing the line in the Fall of last year. We did several rounds of design and revisions, then we went to the sampling stage. We had to produce over 250 pcs of samples for the Gift Shows in January. The factory worked very hard over the holidays and got the samples done in 1 month. They are wonderful and I thank them for their amazing hard work and dedication. We then took the samples to the Toronto and Alberta Gift Shows to get orders. When we got back from the shows we started production and that took several months. These are all made in Vancouver. Everything including the materials were locally sourced from Canadian vendors. The quality of the products are top notch, the finishing is superb, the fabric is super soft. We only use YKK zippers which are tested for quality and safety standards.

We are happy to announce that our new kids hats and hoodies are available online http://www.punchbrand.com/crazyheads-kids There’s so many to choose from. Which one’s your favorite?
