Punch Brand proudly presents
Helmet Girls by Camilla d’Errico

About The Artist
Camilla d'Errico is a young Canadian artist based out of Vancouver, BC, who has been taking the LA alternative art scene by storm. She began showing her work in the spring of 2007 and has been a regular participant in group shows in the Los Angeles galleries Thinkspace, Copro Nason and Gallery 1988. Her extreme talent in manga was developed through years of work in the comic book industry, where she is also very active. Her love of manga is matched by her love of poetry and literature. Combined with the fact that Camilla is an incurable romantic, she has the ability to paint in an original style that transcends any social category, label, or definition. Her work is colourful, fresh, and young while at the same time it is meaningful, deep and touching. She has a dedicated fan base who adore everything she does and who support all of her creative endeavours from comics to paintings to clothing, and in the future so much more.

“Camilla’s Girls” are unusually stunning, doe-eyed and magnificently colourful female characters.

“A distinguishing trait of Camilla’s paintings is that each girl is different; you never know what her next girl will express.”

About the Project
It started when Glynis of Punch Brand, was in Vancouver walking along the street of one of the city's trendiest shopping and dining districts, Kitsilano's West 4th Avenue - a vibrant neighborhood shopping area with a unique collection of one-of-a-kind shops, niche boutiques, sports stores and restaurants. A painting in the window of a local print shop caught her eye. Her curiosity to find out about the artist leads her into the shop where she was greeted by a very pleasant and knowledgeable shop owner. She said the painting was by a local artist named Camilla d’Errico. And so the design collaboration began…

About Glynis Tao of Punch Brand
Born and raised in Vancouver British Columbia, Glynis developed an interest in fashion design very early on during her high school years. From her very first sewing class, she knew that this was the career path she will choose to pursue. Upon completion, she took the first step in her journey and enrolled in the Fashion Design and Technology program at Kwantlen University College in Richmond, B.C. She then went on to further her educational studies and to enhance her skills by attending the fashion design program at Ryerson Polytechnic University in Toronto. This earned her a Bachelor of Applied Arts Degree in Fashion Design.

Glynis’ work experience is as diverse as her educational background. She’s worked at many well known companies domestically as well as in the far east. Her last position was Product Manager at Reebok Canada Inc. Glynis founded Punch Brand in 1998 as part of her graduation collection at Ryerson. Years later she stuck with the name, and Punch Brand evolved from a contemporary women’s line to what the company is known for today- the manufacturer of cute things. Their crazyheads line is a collection of cute anime inspired fleece hats, hoodies and novelty accessories.
