Celebrating 10 Years of Cuteness

It’s hard to believe that I started this company over 10 years ago. Last year was our 10 year anniversary and we celebrated with a new product launch, swag giveaways, party hats at conventions, Facebook contests, and our first Kickstarter campaign. It was a busy year to say the least. I’ve been running Punch Brand for as long as I can remember, I mean I’ve been working in the apparel industry for nearly 20 years and half of that was owning my own business. It’s a big part of my life and I probably wouldn’t have been able to do it for this long if I wasn’t for the passion I have and all the wonderful fan support I’ve been getting. I cannot thank my fans and customers enough. You are the reason I keep doing what I do. I’ve been wanting to put together a commemorative album with all the memories and photos taken through the years. So I finally put together a photo album containing the best of the best photos. I had to sort through literally thousands of photos, if you can imagine. 10 years is a long time and a lot of memories. I enjoyed putting the photo album together, it was like a walk down memory lane. And to remember all the wonderful people I met and collaborated with and who have helped me through the years. I would like to share some of the photos with you. Please enjoy!

GHSF x crazyheads collaboration

Dreams do come true! Remember my post back in Dec 2009 where I was talking about my wish to do a collaboration with Lights? Yep that was 4 years ago, well my wish came true when Lights and her husband Beau Bokan from Blessthefall visited our booth at Fan Expo Canada and then later contacted us to do a collaboration together. My first reaction was “is this a dream? Pinch me if this is not a dream”. I got to go backstage and watch Lights perform at the PNE last September. That marked the kick off to our GHSFx crazyheads collaboration together. Beau is the lead singer for Blessthefall and also has a clothing line named Golden Hearts Shine Forever. We decided to design one of our smitts based on the GHSF teddy logo, using the bones as inspiration I was able to add stuffed 3D bones to the black hooded smitt. And voila! Today was the official launch on the GHSF merchline website. If you are a fan of GHSF or crazyheads then go now and order one of these limited of 50 hooded smitts. Teddy Bear Picnic

We were at the 24th Annual Teddy Bear Picnic last month, hosted by The Coquitlam Festival Society. This is a non-profit society made up entirely of volunteers. We wanted to be part of a community event and the fact that it was a teddy bear theme was perfect. There were many local businesses who rented tents for the day and ran different activities for kids.  We had a crazyheads coloring corner in our tent. We had coloring pages of our mascots for the kids to color. The day started out quite wet, with a torrential downpour when the event started. But that didn’t “dampen” our spirits, as soon as the sun came out a lot of people came out for the fun and festivities. We were beside the Vancouver Zoo so they had an Owls and Falcons exhibit, there was a giant Falcon right next to us. We were in a park and the crows were going crazy in the trees around us. They were all cawing to each other, I guess they knew that a predator was near. It was quite fascinating. The event turned out to be really fun. It was great being outdoors and seeing the kids happy faces when they got to color and take their works of art home with them. Here’s some pictures from the event.

Events Recap- Fan Expo Vancouver, Anime North and more…

So it’s been a while since I’ve done a post. We’ve been busy dong conventions, trade shows and launching our new kids line. I know we make things look effortless ;p but these things really do take a lot of time. There’s a lot of work, and planning that goes into everything we do. We are a small team, that’s lean and mean making this operation run but we make it happen while having fun at the same time. Just as an update to what’s been going on in the past few months, here’s a nice recap of events that’s happened over April and May.

We did our hometown show for the 2nd year, Fan Expo Vancouver. They made it an even bigger event and the Dealers Room was under the sails. Singer Kieran Strange came and hung with us for a while. She handed out Punch Brand post cards and sent some fans over to our booth. I caught a glimpse of the iconic DeLorean from Back to the Future movies. It was cool!

We were in Toronto for Anime North at the end of May. This year it was cooler than usual. Every year it’s usually scorching hot, but this year was rather cool so people bundled up in hoodies. Which was good for us 🙂 This year we launched 4 new t-shirts designs. See if you can spot them. Meelo in Space was a sure hit at the show!
